| SAY IT AIN'T SO.....
Wednesday, June 28, 06
I don't even want to be writing this, but I logged onto Yahoo! today and there it was on the front page: Rock trio Sleater-Kinney shutting down. The announcement is also on the band's official site and on Subpop as well.
I can sum it all up by saying that this is basically the worst news ever. "Indefinatie Hiatus" doesn't mean they are breaking up, but doesn't mean they are staying together either. 11 years with Sleater-Kinney and I can't imagine a year without them. Thanks to the ladies for the music and inspiration. You are irreplaceable and will be missed by everyone. It's just going to have to sink in now. Grieve with fans, SK google news feed and for those lucky enough to score a ticket to their last shows:
July 29 - Mellwood Arts Center - Louisville, KY
July 31 - Starlight Ballroom - Philadelphia, PA
August 01 - 930 Club - Washington, DC
August 02 - Webster Hall - New York City, NY
August 04 - Lollapalooza (Grant Park) - Chicago, IL
